Finally I got the invitation from Katharina after being so long chasing my lecturer from Limkokwing University and here goes my first post in this blog. To start off, I might need to introduce the PR company that I was intern with and still currently extended my contract with them. I was being offered as an intern in Fleishman-Hillard Kuala Lumpur (FHKL) on May 2008 and started working with them on 9 June 2008. Here is a link to their international webpage: http://www.fleishman.com. To name a few clients of the company, there would be: BMW Malaysia, Motorola, Abott, Malaysia Debt Venture (MDV) and many more.
During my interview session with the Managing Supervisor in the company, I was told that my job will not be making coffee. In fact, the 3 months that I work there will be the most peak period of the entire year. And because I do not belong to any team, I will be very busy helping everybody when they need me.
During my first day working with them, I felt a little nervous as I have not been in the PR field before and I am unsure how the job scope is will be. The first job that I got from colleagues is the usual thing, the media monitoring then followed by media calls. These are the normal roles that every new intern will be doing here in Malaysia. The colleagues, they are all great and fun! I am happy to have this great opportunity to get myself into this company.
On my upcoming posting next week, I will be posting some interesting events that I managed to attend during my internship. To reveal some, I attended events for MDV, SKOL, Thomson Reuters, Pfizer: Champix and BMW. To concentrate more particularly on Thomson Reuters because this is the first project that I am given the opportunity to handle it myself.
