Sponsorship!!

Hi everyone!

My placement at Colosoul is starting to get hectic as the events are approaching very soon. It is a god experience to really learn how to do time management and organising.

At the moment I am working on getting sponsorship for events. I am more focusing on drinks and sending out sponsorship letters and finding companies that are suitable for sponsoring the events that Colosoul is hosting. It is very interesting on how sponsorship work. For instant trying to figure out what sort of returns that we can offer to the companies in order for them to sponsor the events. One thing that I learn is, we must be very organise and know who we are targeting long before the actual events. It doesn’t matter if the event is still the year after; because the earlier you get the sponsor it makes everything much easier. Organising an event is a lot of work; I always think that planning an event is less stressful than other field in Public Relation. Now I’m starting to get to know the event management world, that it is quiet stressful and there are many things to be done, for example sponsorship, budgeting, invitation letter, inviting host and getting ideas how to make the event a success and stands out.

From all this I am quiet enjoying this position, as I like being creative myself and share my ideas and thoughts. It gets excited when writing about the events and organising it, because at Colosoul there are people who really teach and guide you professionally. With all the things that I’m learning at Colosoul it is very useful for me in the event management field as I’m taking notes as I go and learning from mistakes. There are things for me to be improved and work on, for instant my grammar and double check while reading it out loud to make sure it all makes sense.

Overall I’m looking forward to my next task which is yet to be revealed by my supervisor.

Good luck to all!

Hi Tik,

Its good to see that you are enjoying your time at Colosoul. As I have learned in marketing, finding out the target market is very important and is one of the first thing that you do. It is good to hear that you are learning many new things from your placement. I thought that event management will not be as tough as what you have said, but I think that having many people to support you and help you with the event management things should run smoothly. Anyway, good luck for the rest of your internship.
