The 20 days went by so quickly, I can't believe they are over! Officially, I have finished, although I am going in again for one more day (more as a volunteer) to help with another school visit for their community education program. They were really short on numbers and seeing as I've finished now, I am happy to help them out a bit.

In writing my report, I can't believe how much work I actually did! It didn't feel like so much at the time, but I think that is only because I was enjoying it all, so it didn't feel like work.

I was a little disappointed because I asked my supervisor if she wanted me to give a short presentation on the all the things I had done towards my main project so that after I'd left, it would be easier for all the others to take over! However on the day, one of the managers was at home sick and he had been one of my main supporters through the whole thing, so it would've been nice to show him what I'd come up with. Also, the Communications Manager had gone on holidays the week before, so she couldn't be there to see the final product either. Instead, I presented to one of my other supervisors (who is really friendly and supportive so it was great to have her there) but also another lady who only started working at my organisation that week.

Throughout the whole thing she didn't take her eyes off my face which made me feel really self conscious! Also, she isn't the sort of person who is overly responsive so she didn't say much at all. I guess it was just a shame that I spent the whole time working with people who were so supportive and openly excited about my work but none of those people (bar one) could be there at the end.

I'm a pro with Publisher now and made some brochures and information manuals which I had heaps of fun with. It's great having all the latest technology to use, then great printers that make the final product look so good. I'm told that Adobe InDesign is the best program for creating newsletter and other media documents, so that is something I'll have to look into. I couldn't even begin to create something on it though because it is so high tech, so I switched to Publisher and made my way around easily. When I'm finished uni, I'd like to look into doing a course for InDesign and PhotoShop, I think they'd be great programs to know how to use! Especially in the PR field! I've got the time now... so it'll definitely be something to look into.

I can't believe how long I put off doing this unit, because it's definitely been one of my favourites. I remember when all my friends were doing theirs but I hadn't enrolled in the unit yet and some of them had good experiences and others not so great. I was a bit anxious, but it's all turned out to be so much fun.

Now I just have to get to work on my assignment....
