Events a stressful week ahead.

Hi Every one.

I hope every one is enjoying there placement. Just an update on my placement. I have been working on three different events for Myer which are creeping up very quickly. My self and another intern have been helping organise two events for The Fashion Festival, Basement presents SHOPAHOLIC, which will have Cassie Davis playing live. The second is Fashion Friday, with Manning Cartell.

The last week leading up to the events which start this Friday have been very busy. I have realised that thing will always go wrong when you are planning for events. A good example was when we were doing all the invitations for VIPs for the events, when we sent them to the art work team in Melbourne, two of there main graphic designers were sick. This meant that we only received the art work for the invites last week which meant invites were going to be sent out at last minute. Not ideal but unavoidable unfortunately.

Another unexpected thing also put a spanner in the works. Our stylist that was putting together the Basement fashion parades was also sick which meant for two days, myself and two other girls had to test our creative talents and try and start to put together some outfits for the show. Luckily the stylist was only sick for two days and was able to do a much better job than I did.

Another event that is coming up and I have helped with is the Spring /Summer parades for Myer. This is where Jennifer Hawkins is flown to Perth to participate in the parades. In the last week I have been extremely busy organising Jennifer's schedule, and sending out media releases, organising shoots and what clothing should be in these shoots. This has all bee really exciting, but very full on as we are still madly trying to get our other events organised!

At the moment I am working with two other interns which makes it allot of fun, but challenging at the same time, as we all have different opinions on every thing. We are exetremely lucky that our Supervisor is very supportive and gives us quite allot of creative freedom for shoots. She always asks what we think and welcomes any suggestions. I understand that many people are not so lucky on there placements.

So this week will be extremely busy as I am working and setting up at both Fashion Friday and Basement present SHOPAHOLIC, which will no doubt be stressful but an amazing experience and a huge learning curb.
