Rockend Placement

Hi everyone!

This is my very first post!
I've just finished my fourth day of work experience at Rockend, a company that provides two specific software products for real estate agents nationwide. It's safe to say that they have kept me busy so far!

Rockend is attempting to generate more media coverage across all states, and in particular, here in Western Australia. This is where I come into the picture. So far, I have gathered the details and information about important media contacts across all states, as well as personally been in contact with the photographer and a journalist from the REIWA (Real Estate Institute of Western Australia) Journal; an important document relevant to real estate agents here in W.A.

I had the pleasure and privilege of meeting the founder and owner of Rockend, Tony Maple-Brown, and was given the opportunity to form a stronger relationship with the CEO of Rockend, John Goddard upon their visit to Perth from the head office in New South Wales.

I have worked at Rockend for over a year now and my supervisor was thrilled with the idea of me practicing public relations techniques and methods with their organisation. John was also very pleased, and is interested in discussing further public relations, marketing and personal assistance work for me in the eastern states if that was what I wish to do once I have finished my degree here at Curtin. I think it sounds like a wonderful opportunity to expand my PR knowledge and working in different environments other than Perth, as well as 'see the sites' of Australia!

I hope everyone is enjoying their placement and has enjoyed reading my post. I am looking forward to hearing of some of my peers placement stories and their experiences and advice.
