Hi Everyone,

Hope you're all travelling well with your placements.

I'm 15 days into mine at the West Australian Football Commission and it's been different to what I expected. I have worked on a good cross section of tasks from the areas of Media, Marketing and Sponsorship but have recently been focussing on work related to the WAFL Grand Final - which is this weekend.

It's been interesting working in another corporate environment, seeing how departments correlate and intertwine - particularly how they manage such a hefty workload with few staff! At times it has been challenging as I've been given a task with all relevant details, then realised half way through most of the details had been changed only to realise noone talks to one another! I guess it's not all that different to most organisations :) I also expected my days to be a little more 'crazy' but it's been quite evenly paced. Maybe this is because I'm only in the office one day of the week so I don't experience the full pace.

So on Sunday I'll be helping out during the League Grand Final between South Freo and Subiaco. Most of my duties involve escorting guests to and from the ground during the game, helping set up at various stages and assisting with on ground duties. It should be a great experience considering I'm normally in the stands or watching the game on tv.

Fingers crossed it doesn't bucket down!
