Last post :)

Hi every body !
Finally the last day of 3years of hard work coming to an end ! I would like to share my last moment at my internship with you. It lasted for more than 1 month and I left the internship with a heavy heart. I really enjoyed the work during my stay at the resort. The working environment is very professional, yet there is always someone to make you smile whenever it gets hard.

Team work is a very important and essential quality everyone must have. It helps to get more work done effectively and in less time efficiently.

More important thing that i learn is about the importance of networking in the PR field. Networking combine with our capabilities for sure each one of us will succeed. I can say that i learned a lot during my stay. Even the fact that i was not in the PR department, i did contribute to a large number of internal communication tasks and even to some other PR-related works. I not only learn the ways of doing of PR in the resort but also had a general view about the evolution of PR in the local context.

To end up I will like to thank everyone of you who make me want to come home and check if the blog has been updated or not ! till then !

Cheers !

P.S: Come for some holidays to Mauritius, try to do your graduation here ! You'll definitely like it !

Hi there!
Wow you had an internship where you were able to stay at a resort! That’s amazing! Oh yes back to the PR side of things now… the duration of my placement included being part in a week long festival and having to work as apart of a team to achieve all the tasks that need to be done on that day. From this point I can relate to your comment on how team work is very important and an essential quality that everyone must either possess or develop. Without working as a team everyone has there own agendas and I found that you are not as productive as when working together. Although a team basis can be a source of tension and conflict at times if managed and applied properly there are no limits to what a team can achieve!
I too was not entirely in the PR department of my organisation but I still witnessed so many PR activities that were being carried out by various individuals that I still feel I was able to understand where public relations was within the organisation. My role was more in the events side as mentioned previously. It is from this observing of different activities and then experiencing it, I that I would tend to agree that networking is one of the most useful assets a public relations professional can have.
Enjoy the rest of your time in Mauritius (lucky!)

Good luck for your future plans and public relations career.
Frances

I do agree with you said about team work, it is really important and personally team work had helped me throughout my internship, i learned a lot of things with my collegues and working as a team had made us more productive and thus at the end we have contributed to the event succes.

I miss my collegues since i ended my internship and i do hope than one day i will be able to work with themù again

i Wish you all the best

Hey Abhi!

I'm from Mauritius too, but studying in Perth at Curtin! I would've loved to do my internship in a Mauritian resort! That's what I was expecting when I was thinking of doing my PR prac! You are so lucky! 4 years ago, I did a prac in a small hotel up north in Mauritius. I was responsible of dealing with the clients there(in the entertainment club). it was the most amazing and fun experience of my life! Even though my actual prac is not as fun I'm still enjoying it and I'm glad Im discovering another aspect of PR! I learnt a lot from the staff and I'm really happy to be doing this because it made me realise that I actually didn't hate wirting media releases, newsletters etc! lol..anyway..
Wish you all the best
