A Name Change

My work experience placement recently had something interesting happen - a company name change. The documentary production company, previously called 'Going Native', is now called 'EMIC Films.' The names have similar meanings and are related to the immersion of oneself in another culture in order to understand it better.
As a result of the name change, we went back over the existing company policies and ensured that we believed that everything we had documented was still relevant. Michelle felt that overall nothing had changed, but that she as the executive producer identified more strongly with the new name and had already envisaged the new logo. I think it's pretty interesting working in such a creative industry in which what happens can be dictated by the whims of the artistic types in charge! This personal assumption is backed up with years of experience working with directors, designers and actors, all of which are just as prone to changing their minds dramatically and often.
This highlights even further the necessity of remaining on your toes in the PR world.
