Coming to an end

So, it is nearly time for me to complete the final days of my placement. Boy, what an experience!! I have learnt so much on my journey with The Global Good Foundation, and been part of so much!
I have participated in interviews, been in newspapers, skydived for charity, got Paulini on board as an ambassador, had meetings with the likes of Dixie Marshall, Shelley-Taylor Smith, Narelda Jacobs, Steven Segale, Alison Braun and so many more!
I even got to manage my own Public Relations Team and have now been appointed a position on the Board of Management.
I have been given so much responsibility and with this learnt more than I could've anywhere else.
Tenille (Chairman of GGF) has become a great mentor and the first person I turn to for advice. She is such a wise women and really is a great role model. If I could achieve half of the things Tenille has achieved in her life I would be so proud.
I have met and worked with so many great people and learnt something from every single one. I have been lucky enough to not only work in the field of Public Relations but also in the areas of Fundraising, Corporate Sponsorship, Strategic Partnerships and The Gala Event to be held at the Hyatt on October 30.
This has given me the life-long experience of working in all areas of a not-for-profit and learning the ins and outs of a charitable organisation.
I am so grateful to have done my placement with The Global Good Foundation with Tenille as my guide.
If there is one thing that I know for sure, I am going to continue working with GGF and do my bit for helping those affected by domestic violence.

Tiffany,
Congratulations on all that you have done throughout your placement! Sounds like you have an incredible time. Wow! What an achievement to appointed a position on the Board of Management! Congratulations!

I too am at a non-for-profit organisation. And I would have loved to have been given such responsibilities. I think that sometimes that's one of the best ways to learn- is to be 'thrown in the deep end' so to speak so you lean for yourself by your own experience- with the assistance and guidance of your peers if needed.

I too have had a great experience, yet to be able to work in the areas of corporate sponsorship, strategic partnerships and event management I believe would have been extremely beneficial.

Good luck with the rest of your official placement. And all the best for your future with GFF.

Hey Tiffany,

I'm so glad to hear that you've enjoyed your placement! You’ve achieved so much for the organisation and I’m sure Tenille values your contributions and considers you a great asset. Very proud to hear that they’ve offered you a place on the Board of Management! Wow that’s amazing hun, you should be really proud of yourself. I've heard from Caitlin that you've done way over the recommended twenty days so you must be really passionate about it 

I hope that National White Butterfly Day on the 10-10-10 goes well too. Not that long now I suppose…

I’ve just finished my placement with a consultancy called the SponsorShop and a majority of our clients are not for profits too so I understand how difficult it is working with such limited resources, however I suppose that is the crux of Public Relations really.

Good luck with everything in the future!

Hi Tiffany,

What a fantastic PR placement you found. Congratulations, you must have made a great impression at the organisation to be appointed a position on the Board of Management.

After reading many of the blogs from people that worked in the not-for-profit sector, it sounds like you are given a lot of responsibility. That must make you feel better prepared when you start applying for PR jobs.

It's great to hear about all the exciting things other people are getting involved in. Good luck and all the best for your future PR career, sounds like it will be a good one!
