Is it week 13 already?

Hello PR bloggers, I hope all of you are excited that the semester is 3 weeks away to an end. I have been reading the latest blog posts and it seems that some people are even submitting their final report a week earlier. As excited as I am to finish the semester and actually graduate in September, i am struggling with the many major assignments that has to be due, in the next 2 weeks including the PR393 final report. My internship is taking most of my time, starting from 9am-5pm if no one decides to book the functions room or host an event there (which is very unlikely) or 9am- 8pm on most of the days because everyone decides Willetton Sports Club is the best venue to celebrate either their 21st or 18th birthday celebration. Even my Saturdays is given away to the lovely Willetton Sports club from 4-9pm. How ever, (i do apologize for nagging to much) I will try my best to catch up to where everyone else is at and give everything in time before the deadline.

Now, I have re-read my last post and realised that i didn't really explain much to you readers what Willetton Sports Club actually is. Therefore in this post i will try my best to roughly explain (as i am not allowed to go into details so much due to privacy issues) what organisation I have been working at for the last 2 weeks or so.

Willetton Sports Club is a non-porfit organisation that provides sport facilities to a number of divisions such as:

Basket ball

Tennis

Bowling

Atheletics

Football

Cricket

Soccer

Netball

Each division has a building to themselves that is fully equipped with courts, changing rooms, toilets and also a management office. The main body of the club is a club house which has 4 functions room and the management office which is in charge of mostly all of the issues through out the sports club ranging from sponsors, bank statements, membership registration and ex cetera

That is where I work, in the main body of the club, the busiest department of all the divisions.

The organization has currently been running under a new management for 3 months therefore the limited staff working there have been running around getting the sports club up to date running smoothly and I think they are doing a good job with it. Besides dealing with the booked functions for other division and outside events (birthdays, rotary meetings, a themed dinner etc) The Willetton Sports Club does weekly events such as Bingo nights on Tuesday; Steak nights on Wednesday and also carvery night on Sunday.

I think most of you get the idea now. So yes, I work in the events and functions department where I help guest with their booking and events requirement that includes food, decorations, PA system, table arrangements and also the cost of it all. On some occasions I even get to play waitress to ensure that the event is running smoothly but during the day, most of my duties are office work like answering the phone and banking in the money from the bar tills the sports bar made the other night.

On the 28th of May, we have organized an ABBR dinner for quite a cheap price (49$ presale). The sports club is very busy at the moment making sure advertising is still on going; receiving bookings; getting phone calls asking for more information and so on. I am very excited that I am involved in the planning of it all, to me it seems like such a big event to look forward to!

Hey Eyka! Just to wish you goodluck for the end of your internship and your final report! I understand 100% what it is to be busy now! I was also working everyday (except Tuesdays, i had uni all day). I was spending my time on buses/trains to get to uni, to work etc! And was leaving home at 7am to be back at 7pm! However, we had to move out of the office for few weeks and Im doing my last 5 days at home 9with regular meetings, phone calls, emails etc). Even though it's still time consuming, it's much easier to catch up on what I missed while I was at the office! Also, by managing my time in a better way, I managed to catch up on everything, and Im almost at the end of my report =)! dont worry, you can do it! goodluck!
