My first week with Habitat for Humanity housing Botswana

Hie guys!
My first day was the craziest one because I didn’t know anyone in the office and I didn’t know who to talk to. My supervisor just came for some few minutes and she left for a meeting that took the whole day. Everyone looked so serious and very busy with their work. But I was impressed with my punctuality since I was the first one at the office. By end of the week I had made a lot of friends starting with my supervisor.
Just to give you guys a brief summary of the organization that I will be doing my intern with. Habitat for Humanity Botswana (HFHB) is a non governmental and non profit making organization. The organization mainly builds houses for the needy on a loan. For example, they can build a 2 bed roomed house for someone and the person will have to pay back the money on monthly installments for a certain period of time. The loans are profit free but interest is factored in to cases for inflation.
It manages the day to day tasks from the donations it gets from other organizations and individuals. The organization also has international teams coming all the way from their home countries to come and help build houses for the needy.
The communication department is divided into two parts, the resource and communication and the Global Village. The global village coordinator’s task is mainly to travel with the international teams that volunteer to help build houses for the less fortunate,she also manages all the external (mostly international communication) for the organization. And the resource and communication staff manages the internal and external communication for the organization nationally. The resource department also raises funds and recruit sponsors and donors for the organization. And I help in both departments.
