Week Two - CBS

Hello World

Week 2 - so after an awesome morning tea and fire alarm on the same day in week 1 i wonder how week 2 would stack up

Week 2 saw me given a job that i'm sure we all would hate - Media Coverage
I was given a stack of articles about 100 or so in all of media coverage on Curtin Uni from April to June which i had to read and put into a easy to read report to give to the Director of External Relations
which if anyone has done knows it is a very monotonous and time consuming and took me over 5 days to complete it (doing about an hour every day on it)

I got the opportunity to go to a CBS product training session which was followed by another morning tea where i was able to listen to Evan Nichols the director of CBS External Relations, Prof Chris Brook the Dean of CBS Academic Developmemnt and Christof Pforr unit co-ordinator of Tourism and Event Management give presentations
It was very intresting and I even got up the guts to ask some questions which Evan later congratulated me on which was a bit exciting

I was also given the opportunity to go to a Marketing Working Group meeting where representatives of all the different faculties meet with Central from the University to discuss all things marketing

other jobs i did in week 2
  • get pictures for Open Day video
  • format the photos for specific criteria
  • liase with International Office
  • write taglines for the Excelerate video
  • write voice over script for Open Day
  • Rewrite and format new brochure
  • communicate with staff from all over the uni through internal communications

another busy week at the office

So i'll leave you with this:

When sign makers go on strike, is there anything written on their signs?
