Hello guyz!!!!

This marks my last week of my internship and I would say it’s been quite a journey, 7 weeks. The ending of my placement was so perfect. We had a workshop where I really got to understand what Public Relations is really all about getting in-depth, specifically employee relations and maintaining good reputation of a company, which are one of the things considered in the working industry. My colleague once said In PR department when you down we all go down, that is to say the essence of teamwork is vital thus leading to smooth operations being attained.

During the workshop I realized employee relations its more like combining minds into one this somehow maintains and opens communication in the company which according to Jane Johnston and Clara Zawawi consider as a maintained employee goodwill (focusing on goodwill with internal publics) which if I recall very well on PR principals 201 we were taught about, so this workshop applied some of the things that I already learnt from the University. Isn’t it amazing?

So someone might have this in mind, what was discussed during the workshop is it applicable in the work place or was it just a saying. I would confidently say yes, up taking this placement at Rootz I witnessed good relations, which helped out in more efficient and productive management strategy. Such as giving feedback and coming up with ideas which is two way communication between employer and staff so the workshop itself proves communication as a wheel of reaching a goal of employee relations. This does not only help in understanding the employees nor a wake up call to let staff believe in self confident considering their management but also it’s a crucial aspect of building trust.

I surely learnt a lot during this workshop, regarding maintenance of reputation of a company, I have learnt that as a Public relations team we should have good platform when it comes to handling clients and spotting opportunities in developing a clients and so forth.

I now know that small things such a dressing, projects a smart disciplined image so to be noticed for your capabilities and intellect because we all know that first impression counts and it helps in maintaining of reputation. Goodman Alexander and Genest have proven reputation management to be a guiding philosophy in cooperate public relation. Rootz Asia Company has really out done its self in becoming successful reference to the above paragraphs.

Shames here I am now writing my last post, all I can say is, this internship has been an eye opener now I can think outside the box be creative with the skills achieved I am satisfied as i worked in the field of professions .

In a nutshell I can say my experience was exciting and I still want to do Public relations when I graduate. I found myself enjoying what I was doing and what I have learnt I will surely use it in future, I am ready for the industry.

My advices to all of you, when you go out there in the industry know that Patience is the art which leads to confidence and success. The other thing is team work helps achieve a common goal, so don’t waste time and start acting on these two aspects and I guess the university is the right place to start.

Thanks to Roots Asia Pacific for giving me the opportunity to do my placement and guidance during my internship, you the best.

The internship placement has been a great gateway to learning a lot about PR.As you mentioned patience pains but it pays,it was a great lesson to be humble as an intern because that way,it is easier to take constructive criticism and learn a lot.Of course employee relations is the core towards the organisation success because good employee relations equals good results. Most importantly, good image is the emphasis of PR but it is not greenwashing or astroturfing that makes builds an organisation's good reputation,it is the commitment of achieving a symmetric communication between the organisation and its key publics.
