Price giving event

Price giving event
We had a price giving event on November 20 in kampung. The event was held by Esso filling station. The filling station is owned by our managing director`s husband and i was assigned some duty to check out quotations on the PA system to be used for the event.

By the way those who may not know what a PA system is, it is a sound system. I had to visit this website ,http://www.mudah.my. to check out the quotations.

My managing director asked me to at least come up with a price roughly amounting to less than three hundred. Most of the quotations i received during the day amounted to RM500.Most of the companies i called communicated in Bahasa and i had a problem understanding them. Lucky i managed to find a quotation for three RM300.

The price giving was a corporate social responsibility act.It was an appreciation or giving back to the society for their loyalty to the filling station. Some of the prices given were , motor bikes , plasma screens, computers and home theaters. This is what we were taught at our university and it was good public relations shown by the company.By giving out gifts the company boosted its relations with its key public. Through this Two-way symmetric public relations communication Esso has not only focused in supplying petrol to its key public but they have come up with this event to respond to the good work the community is doing for the company. This is a fundamental tactic which keep their key public loyal to their brand.

Calling for the quotations took me two days , i started on the November 14th and finished on the 15th.

it was great event and the turn up was just so motivating , during the event i was seated in one of the table to note down the winners names, it was some good training and i learnt a lot on how to go about arranging and managing events...

Mr Tshekedi , its a an excellent experience to get out in the field and experience all the theory for yourself and it is not always easy as they dictate it in the books , but it is worthy every moment because via this you learn communication skills and have a better glimpse about publics/consumer behavior which is very beneficial.

That is indeed so great, because PR is all about getting out there to the people and serving them as THE WORD SAYS ..PUBLIC RELATIONS, so it is indeed great as these are some of the things that can build up somebody's confidence in dealing with people and it is good you have passed through that...
