Good-day
This is my first post on the blog and 3rd week as an intern in BNOC i.e. Botswana National Olympic Committee which is under the Botswana National Sports Council. Well, one can just depict that it’s all about sports and more sports in this organization. The current sport arrangement in Botswana is such that three organizations, the Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR), BNOC and BNSC are responsible for providing oversight in the delivery and programming of sport, through performing varying, yet at times overlapping, functions such as those of policy formulation, resource mobilization and appropriation, training and competition facilitation. It’s been very hectic-all work and no play, first step on the door and I had NINE newsletters to write. In between scheduling interviews with the relevant coaches, players and sports associations I had to draft a condolence letter: one of the partners had passed away and it’s courtesy to extend condolences and all (goodness used to think all you need to say is sorry for your loss!!! But with the corporate world it’s easier said than done).
Now am faces with an even more challenging task which is marketing the newsletter pages to the big companies such as Mascom, Bmobile e.t.c. so that they can publish their adds hence make a contributing factor to the finance of the company. This is all i have for now

Wow that might be one good experience though at the same time it might not be easy. The fact that its a sport organization might be boring especially if you are not a sports person but loot at it as a learning experience..All the best
