PR & Events

Hello everyone. Sorry for being late,I am done with my internship and this is my first post. Well, during my internship period, i worked at an international consultancy for 2 weeks and a small PR department in a museum for 9 weeks, Botswana National Museum to be exact. There is an undeniably vast difference difference between these two. In just 2 weeks at Edelman Independent International PR Consultancy I wnt for 3 events;

  • Samsung's Bada Developer Varsity Challenge

  • Senheng-Samsung Junior Badminton Championship 2010

  • Briderace Malaysia by Doubletree Hotel (Hilton KL)

At every event, it is important to have media registration, it enables you to know which media made it to the event, (of course you should have invited them first, preferably send an email and then call them a day before the event to remind them of the event). Later checkhow many of the media that came were able to publish/cover your event. You should always do a post event release;

  • Select photos from the event

  • Send out a press release with the photos to the targeted media, attendees and non-attendees

  • Check your media registration to look out for those who have published the story, cross them out and lookout for those who haven't, 'Yet', (its good to be positive).

  • Update your cliptracker,9if you dont have it, go get it...)

That is so not all I learnt from my time at Edelman..but i will save the rest for my next post then I will be moving on to my time at Botswana National Museum. In the meantime, 'Ciao'...
