Engaged Consulting

Hello again. This will be my last post on my stay at Edelman. In between doing media calls, media registration, daily news updates, media monitoring,research and other basics of Public Relations, I was honored to attend a career development training on engaged consulting.Thank you again Edelman.
The objective of this training was to teach consultants to apply engaged consulting behaviors and techniques to clients relationship which will increase client satisfaction, grow revenue and quality of outcomes.
First and foremost, its important for a consultant to know and apply the 4C's of trust; communication, concern, consistency and competency.
There is also the R5 consulting points;
1.Rapport- think of your client's communication preference;visual,auditory/aesthetic
2.Record- engaged listening(listen for whats different not farmiliar),by the way, i have some pointers on the do's and dont's of engaged listening from this training, if you need them just tell me and i will send them to you.
3.Release- ask the right questions and always check for understanding.
4.Replace- getting to the outcomes/results.
5.Remember-learn from what works, commom ground & language,trust...
Once again I would like to thank Edelman for the very good jumpstart to my time in the industry. For my next post I will be concentrating on my time at Botswana National Museum.
