4thirteen media http://4thirteenmedia.com/was given a task to promote the annual Formula 1 race using the social media which takes place around April this year. We came up with strategies of promoting this event online like making the flash games of the Formula 1 race, where people can play; these will teach people all about the Formula 1 cars, the race (event) and the sponsors. The social media were also used for selling the ticket of the events online; people can now buy cheaper tickets online on the Formula 1 Malaysia website http://www.f1-malaysia.com/ and the Sepang International Circuit website http://malaysiangp.com.my/, there is also an online quiz ,which is also found on these websites, people who get high scores in the quiz are given free ticket to the F1 race at the Sepang International Circuit. The quiz makes people know more about the event and to make them want to see the race, and by that they will buy the tickets. The social media are also used for the day-to-day updates about the event and the racers. I learned that the social media plays a very great role when it comes to launch and promotions, it like showing people what is going to happen at the event, sort of making a pre-event online and raising the F1 fever.

Oabona I agree with you when you say today social media play major role in promoting some events especially very well known events like the Formula 1 you have just mentioned,for example the race is coming to Malaysia this April and almost everyone is aware of it,this is because of updates we get from these social media such as the Formula 1 race Facebook fan page,twitter and others,during the race twitter will be giving live commentary where one can be able to know who is holding the first spot.
We can still talk about media at large Television,Radio and newspapers,they are doing a great and fantastic job to promote this event,this shows that media is playing a very great role in our lives,without media we were not going to be able to get these updates.
Lastly Mr Oabona I would like to say well done to your Organization for promoting this event and giving people the opportunity to compete and grab themselves free tickets to go and watch the highly anticipated race on earth.
