(Members of the public viewing the stall of MFDP)
(That’s me, with the MFDP staff at our stall)
Today organizations and their social responsibility programs are much more sophisticated. Social responsibility is treated just like any other management discipline. During my internship I had the opportunity to participate in social responsibility programs, giving back to the community. It was such a humbling experience for me.
Having HIV/AIDS as one of the most challenges that Botswana is facing, the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) staff took time to support and encourage both that are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS therefore going towards the country vision of “A Compassionate, Just and Caring Nation”.
The Gaborone District World AIDS Day Commemoration was held on the 9th of December 2010 with a theme “Universal Access for all and Human Rights, Stop AIDS and keep the Promise”. It started with a walk from BTV circle to Tsholofelo Community Park at 6 o’clock in the morning. It was heartening to see the MFDP staff as their attendance was quite a good, came on time and wearing their uniform. This shows their cooperation and them giving back to the community by supporting community activities. They even had their own stall for viewing by guest and members of the public.
Thank you MFDP staff, the public were greatly impressed with the tremendous effort and support you have given to fight against the disease and made the event immense.

like you mentioned todays' organisations need to exercise their CRS its because they have realized they have a to in order to be recognized, todays society works on a two way approach its a give and take situation, you take from the community and give back to it again as much as the community takes and give back to you. the benefit of doing this as an organisation is to have support from the people in times of crises and many others, apart from that todays people have many problems that need other people to intervene in and also need helping hands to get things going, your post is insightful. do check out mine if you have time i would appreciate it. thanks
Thank you Smolly for taking time to check my blog and comment. Yes its true, its no longer a want to practice CSR but its a necessity for both the organization and the public. Its a win-win situation and yes if everyone want to receive who is going to give then? I really believe that CSR is very crucial in Public Relations
