Many organisations have not realized the value of internal communication. During my time in lestholathebe ll Memorial Hospital, I observed that employees needs a motivation that will make them to look forward to come to work, putting their best which in turn bears the good fruits of good reputation, quality service and customer satisfaction.
Knowing that your input as an employee is recognized, valued, appreciated can elevate the performance of the company/organization. Just like the nucleus in a cell without it, there wouldn’t be any production. It was from this concept that in January we conducted award ceremony in the hospital for the workers after carrying interviews with the public, in-patients and observation during the “Month of Botho” in regards to the way they were offered the service and their suggestions for improvement, this gave a very good response to the whole hospital more so that the Superintendent adopted the idea that these awards should be on quarterly basis . One of the things I find pride in doing and reflecting back on my contribution to the hospital. This was a challenge for the workers to perform to their level best.Loyalty was nourished! And in the case of our Country Botswana which is experiencing recession and other developing countries, do you guys think Internal Communication can be a tool to be used to sustain the momentum of the company?and how effectively for the company and for the workers.thank you

I will say internal communication is very crucial in any organization. We need to communicate right internally that is when can do the same externally.
"Public Relations are really about communication because effective dialogue lies at its heart" (Ali, 2001). To ensure success, make sure that communication is a two-way process, and aware of nonverbal and unintentional messages.
COMMUNICATING WITH STAFF- yes, good PR starts at home. Committed and helpful staffs create a good image, so regard employees not just as a workforce, but as a principal target audience. I believe the staffs have to feel that they are involved because in that way they will feel more appreciated and worthy.
Keep them informed even in small things like new staff, promotions, job opportunities, activities or even remembering their birthdays because I believe it’s in the small things that greater things come.
Inded internal communication is an important tool in any organisation.i regard internal communication as the most crucial aspect in carryin out goals and objectives set.i believe workers are what makes an organisation, they are part of the driving force therefore deserves to be involved and informed of their environment's proceedings, developments and changes. To them as you say can work as a form encouragement and gives them pride of ownership to their organisation.
A company without any internal communication is like a headless chicken really running about without any direction, workers are the backbone of the organisation and they are what holds it together and makes it go on, if you do not communicate with your personnel do you expect any kind of positive outcome really. one thing a lot of companies and organisations over look is the fact of internal relations, forgetting issues can always turn into crises, todays community is very small to the point that what happens in one organisation can be the next worlds biggest crises. a small leak can sink a great ship. like i said internal communication is very essential. thank you1
Ms B , i think internal communication is an essence of real PR and in Botswana it is quite affordable because of scarcity of multiple cultures; a clear understanding in communication makes it possible. internal communication
is like a VIP guest in a home i will say , when that kind of guest is available people learn new things like self-enhancement and improvement, esteem, importance , but also learn to deal, cope, relate and communicate effectively with each other against all odds , IC encourages a mutual understanding between people and the management which is the vibe will be accentuated via productivity at work , we all need this especially when we go through thhe desert in group assignments lol
