In every organization it is important to have a crisis management team so that it can be able to respond quickly to emergencies. Organizations should have a crisis management team because an emergency can arise at any time so it should be there to tackle any situation anytime. For instance in a case of an emergency other departments will be involved in the aftermath of the emergency-getting plants equipments back online and finding out what went wrong to prevent a recurrence and Public Relations office will be the lead function doing the most important things in the first few minutes. (Saffir and Tarrant 1993, 84) states that Public Relations is the lead function in crisis and the key to crisis management is advance preparation. A crisis plan should be drawn up and distributed to all appropriate people, new people can also be briefed on the crisis plan, and this can help to dispel one of the most persistent notions among corporate types, which is: if you ignore it, it will go (Saffir and Tarrant 1993, 85).

Hello,
I totally agree with your point of view.It is in fact very important for every company to adopt this strategy because you never know what can happen and obviously when you take too much time to react in front of the media, your company's reputation is done!I guess in every company there should be a department for risk management/crisis management so as to develop a series of scenario of what can actually happen to the company regarding external and internal factors.
Best wishes and good luck for your report

Crisis management is indeed very important in every organisation. Crisis management is all about being pro-active and planning ahead, its about prevention, survival and hopefully successful outcomes.
Hey King,
I agree with you all. I think a company has to plan ahead to avoid being caught off-guard and they have to make sure that they have a crisis management team which comprises of individuals with different expertise to ensure that all facets of the problem are covered.
