Well, what an experience has been. I am very happy to say that I was lucky enough to work for Hill & Knowlton over a period of a few months, as it has allowed me to see the progress on particular projects I have contributed to.
The paceline event was creeping up quickly and I was given the media list I compiled and was asked to contact the relevant media outlets in the small regional towns that the bike ride would be passing through. Firstly, I sent each individual outlet an email stating the information (dates and photo opportunities etc) and then a few days later made some follow up calls to see if they were interested in covering the story. We had a great result all round and many newspapers and radio stations did cover the event.
I finished off the week with helping out on research for Sunwise Suncorp program, where I had to list any up coming conferences related to skin cancer and compile a list of any competitors within the industry. It has been a great experience and I have made some great contacts through the process too. It has made me realise that I could potentially work within a consultancy!
