Dear all
I know this was a late post as I could not find my last post in blog recently so I rewrite a post here.
Finally my internship comes to the end (31/1/2011). 2 months in political party really brings lots of experience to me. Now I had a roughly picture towards political fields. This month, I was busy and stressful on planning staff annual dinner in terms of venue visit, menu testing, programme planning, dance coach and remix music as well as prepare protocols.
From the beginning, checklist is a must for drafting programme. It is a guide for me to do everything when I was preparing this event. First, I had to make sure the venue, so I had to prepare a list of hotel restaurant in Miri, next was calling the marketing department of each restaurant for issuing the quotation include menu and venue decoration. Finally we chose Dynasty Hotel for our Annual Dinner. This month was a tough month for me, I was the only people who in charge for this event. So I had to prepared the programme, I had became a dance coach giving dancing lessons to our colleagues. I mixed the dancing with the fashion show to bring out a message that regardless age, colours that we able worked together and contribute to the social as our YB Datuk Patinggi wishes. Everyday after lunch break, those who been selected had to sacrifice their working time to prepare the performance. I had taught them, disco, hippop and cha-cha. Plus my manager appointed another dance coach for giving 5 girls include me had a belly-dance lessons.
Simultaneously, I had to give few calls for ensure the menu, the decoration and the table flow as well as visit the restaurant. Due to close door event, I had chose more privately room for our dinner and YBs. Can you imagine how busy am i?
We had two rehearsal for the programme to ensure everything was going smooth and without mistake. The dinner night, I was so glad that everything was going smoothly and successfully. At the same time, we had to celebrate Dato Sebastian Ting’s Birthday during the dinner. At the same time, I was voted as The Best Belly Dancer by our VIPs and VVIPs.
That day every staffs were happy and full of joy.
And I would like to thank of all them who were willing collaborate with me and thanks for giving that good opportunity to me to work with them. It definitely was a precious PR experience that could not be found in academic books. Thanks SUPP.

A very insightful read. Yes I do agree having tools like master checklist is fairly important in planning. It helps to ensure everything goes well for the programme. What I have learn on my internship experience is master checklist can acts as a guildeline and also a reminder. I can view and check the status of everything in one page. However, the master checklist should be up to date to avoid complication and confusion.
Hi Winnie, congratulations on your event that night! As I was there I witness the way you interacted with staff of SUPP, it was as if you have been working with them for years. As a guest at the staff annual dinner that night, I had fun and I enjoyed the way the staff of SUPP was able to just let loose from their normal office culture that we see in the office as they deal with a lot of outside community.
You did a great job as I saw that many people enjoyed themselves. I believe it was a night to remember for many especially now that SUPP is not in office anymore. That dinner would be in their memories forever.
Cheers.
