Loving my Intern

Hi Everyone,

Well this is my second post and I've just finished my third week (or 6th day) at my Intern at RRR Network. Its been so full on! I'm not sure about everyone else but I have been very fortunate with the lady, Katrina, who is looking after me. She treats me like a fellow colleague not a student and I have been given huge responsibilities.

Since my last post I have written two articles that I then uploaded onto the RRR network. I have also written numerous letters to different government departments such as the department of fisheries and all the branches with the department across WA, informing them of the up and coming Rural Women's awards. Of course all of my work is double-checked, but I am given a lot of freedom within my placement which I love.

Highlight so far would be creating the E-new magazine which is an online magazine for RRR subscribers. Before starting I had to learn how to use photo shop and Platform direct before being able to create the E-newsletter. But it was worth it. I created this http://www.rrr.wa.gov.au/newsletter_current.asp
Let me know what you think! and if you find any mistakes....don't tell me!

Worst part so far, folding 150 pieces of paper and putting them in envelopes and licking the envelopes closed. The taste will haunt me forever.

I'm really enjoying my intern and all the things I'm learning about being a PR practitioner. For me, the most important thing would be there are numerous ways of doing something and just because it's not like what you learn at Uni doesn't mean its wrong!
