Working at a charity, any unpaid work is extremely appreciated by the organisation, and it was quite nice to be constantly reminded of how helpful I was being and what an impact I was making! Funny considering I thought myself lucky to be there learning so much and gaining all the experiences that I did. Some of the highlights of my experience were creating PR and marketing plans, and working with some really wonderful and knowledgable people from the marketing and public relations areas, which gave me a well rounded experience. Some lowlights were just the boring tasks such as calling people and stuffing envelopes, but let's be honest, this is to be expected when doing any internship. I'm just glad I didn't have to go get anyone coffee!
It was weird walking out of there at 4pm today, knowing I would probably never be working there again (well I suppose I never know what will happen in the future!), but it was really nice to take away some references and Melanie, my supervisor got my details and said that I can call her anytime I need advice, which was really thoughtful, and made me appreciate my experience even more. I'm so glad I got the chance to do this, as I start my full-time marketing job in September and I would have most likely would not have sought out work experience like this unless it was part of the unit. This experience is something that I can take with me when I start my career, and will likely benefit me more than I can even imagine.

Hey Jayde,
Sounds like your placement was really rewarding and you got a lot of great experience out of it. I'm sure you'll use everything you have learnt when you start full time work in you chosen field.
