...and just as I find myself discovering all the experiences and enjoyment my placement has to offer, it is nearly over!
I found myself enjoying writing the report, ok not entirely, but now that it is so near completion I have actually taken the time to reflect on the tasks I have done, the people I have met and the lessons I have learnt.
I received some wonderful advice in my last week of placement; to really reflect on this work experience and take it for what it is: as an opportunity to preview a future job I could have minus the commitment, it was like a free ride! I was advised to really identify the tasks I enjoyed, and the tasks I didn’t enjoy, and use that as a basis for what I would like to do in the future.
From reading most peoples blog’s, and considering that we are all studying the same degree (give or take a marketing/journalist major) it is amazing to see the diverse roles we all found ourselves in – which I think is one of the wonderful things about PR. Who knows where it will take you and the skills you will relying on and the roles you will find yourself in!
It has been a wonderful preview of the workforce, and I wish good luck to all those PR students who are finishing this semester and looking for that dream job! :)

Hey Brooke,
You make a great point about the diversity of PR! Just from my placement alone, I have had experience in marketing, events management and production.. which have of course, all been interlinked with PR. There is certainly a broad spectrum of PR related work out there which continuously makes things new and interesting! All the best with your studies. Soph
