Yes! Yes! Yes!
Today is the day. Curtin Student United Way, have been invited weeks ago to make a presentation to Board during the Board meeting on the 29th september 2011. Kuda(co-founder) and I have been preparing hard for this presentation. We are determined to walk out with something at this presentation.
We went into the office around mid day, and started doing the last touch up for our presentation and doing rehearsals. I was really nervous. Kuda had to talk to me and cam my nerves down. It may sound funny, but, it doesn't seem as easy as it is! We have to make sure that there are no flaws and that we are able to answer all quesitons.
Few days later, we received an email! It is from the Board. They have came back with the results and outcomes that we wanted to achieve. We have their full support! We managed to convince the Board of Who and What we are, What we are capable of. They saw the potential in us, so do we.
It feels really good when we all read the email. That kind of feeling is indescribable. This is the kind of feeling that not anyone can imagine. If you have done a job and when you know what you have done will be used be it in the public or internally, this is that feeling I am talking about.
Being able to meet the Board is definitely the first step of success. It is a great experience to be able to meet the upper management team at one point. This is also what we've realised and encouraged to any organisations. It is very very crucial that employees are able to communicate with the management level to boost confidence and morale within staff. Please bear in mind.
Still overwhelmed with the Board meeting, I shall leave it for now.
