Three Quarters Done!
I can’t believe I’m nearing the end of my internship at the RRR Network. What an amazing experience it has been. Now I know my last post was all doom and gloom with nothing working out the way it should and delays occurring on all our projects. I am happy to say that things are running a lot more smoothly now and everything is back on track. The quarterly Network New Magazine has now been distributed and for anyone who is interested in subscribing to the magazine you should go to http://www.rrr.wa.gov.au/join.asp it’s really easy! Unfortunately we have already distributed the spring edition for this year where you would have got the chance to see all my hard work, but the summer edition is already underway and I’m sure it will be just as good.
The distribution of the magazines went quite smoothly with only one or two small problems. For instance, a few glitches occurring on the subscription website meant we had to manually print labels and post the magazines to a number of RRR followers. This time I decided NOT to lick the envelopes and just too sticky tape them instead.
In other news, the Rural Women’s awards are rapidly approaching. Although the RRR Network does not run the awards, they are strongly affiliated with the ceremony as the initiative is run by the department of Agriculture and Food who with the department of Regional Development and Land jointly fund the RRR network. I have been lucky enough to be involved with a lot of the preparation for the awards, including choosing a venue for the awards and accommodation for the RRR Reference group members who which will be attending the award ceremony. The Rural Women’s Award is Australia’s pre-eminent Award for rural women. The Award identifies and supports emerging leaders and change agents who have the capability and resources to drive innovation, productivity and sustainability within primary industries, and build economic and social development within rural communities.
