After posting my first blog I realized that I missed a step… I need to introduce my internship!
I am currently interning at a boutique Communications company in Perth who specialize in communications for the resource sector. I stumbled across them in my hospitality job and using my networking skills made my interest known. Lucky for me this company in particular takes interns on a regular basis and has employed several past interns on a full time basis.
They took me on as an administration assistant to start the week before Christmas as I couldn’t start my internship until Curtin University opened again after the New Year. As an administration assistant I was in the office only two days for a few weeks until my approval for the unit went through and I officially started on January 24.
I have high hopes for this internship and believe I have been very lucky to be taken in to a company that is so passionate about teaching and developing the skills of junior consultants. I hope that I will be lucky enough to gain an employment contract following my 20 days of being an intern.
