Week One

Week one has been amazing at my internship with a public relations company based in Sydney. Everyone has been so welcoming, nice and helpful to me, which has made my first week really enjoyable and I am very much looking forward to the next month to come.

The company is a fashion public relations company that currently works with eleven major fashion brand clients. The main office space is a clothing and accessory showroom that displays all of the upcoming Winter 2012 collections of the brands.

My tasks that I have been actively involved in this week has been following briefs from clients, stylists and editors outlining products that they require for upcoming photo shoots, editorials, events and appearances. We send out clothes from the showroom in the hope of gaining product placement for our clients on celebrities, television, models, magazines and the Internet.

An important aspect of this job is to then in turn each day go through all the newly published magazines, newspapers, blog posts, internet sites and much more to see what products have chosen to be featured as this is invaluable exposure for our clients.
