Hi my fellow interns,
Sorry I have not been up to date. It has been hectic, especially after the Easter break, with assignments from uni and also juggling my part time job with my internship. I thought my head was about to explode! I'm sure you can relate.
Anyway, I have finally finished my ten days interning at Promaco Conventions and I am having a blast. I have settled in and is more comfortable in my environment. I have also decorated my desk a little bit, which I was so happy to do and felt so professional. As you know, I am interning at an event company that deals with corporate events. I have learnt a lot, and now my supervisor Livia has given me more tasks and responsibilities such as calling up clients, emailing and liaising more. Which is great. Even though I am still doing a lot of administrative tasks, I have also been doing up sponsorship prospectus and my recent achievement, making a registration form and a website for an event that is coming up.
All I can say is, pay your dues. Put in 110% in everything that you do, even if its the little things such as organising brochures (which I had to do). Once your supervisor see the effort that you put in, and the initiatives that you take, they will definitely take a chance on you and give you more responsibilities.
Promaco's first event is coming up on the 23rd of May, and I am excited to see how it all plans out. Im more excited to be there on the event, see people from all over the state come together and maybe network if Im given the opportunity.
Nevertheless, any opportunity and experience that your able to capture, make the most out of it and take advantage.

I completely agree with you, i always try my best to give my 110% just so maybe my manager can entrust me with more responsibilities. (: Its a good feeling there when someone with so much experience gives you (me) a nobody a shot at professionalism. (: good luck !
Grace I also agree. We as interns get given the smaller jobs and the boring ones too because you have to start somewhere. I believe if you put in as much effort you can into making every job you as perfect as can be, you are more likely to demonstrate that you can handle the bigger and more challenging tasks. Every job is important and makes the world go around in some respects. Keep putting in the hard work because it will always pay off!

Dear Grace, I strongly agree with you. As interns, we had the supervisors eyes on us all the times. Even though they are not really looking at us, they really are. All the tasks given to us, either small or big, its just some test for they will evaluate how well we are doing and how well we can cope. Before the internship starts, we practically dreamed that we will directly be given such a huge tasks and that will be the chance for us to shine. The fact is in the real world, we have to start from the bottom and work our way up by proving it all on the quality of work we have shown. Another thing that is so important, which most people do not always realized it is that we need to be a fast learner in order to grab chances as it comes. Its a dog eat dog world out there and if we do not start to learn fast like everybody else, we will get left behind. Hard work and efforts shows in the quality of work presented, it always do!!

It seems you all have been in my shoes. I hope you all have been learning and experienced a lot in your placement. And yes, work your way up is definitely the way to go, it lets you experience all the little things so you will know when you grow in your work place. You will definitely appreciate it more.
