Working experience in Colosoul Group Inc - Part 1

Working in the Business Hub department of Colosoul is not something easy. My work requires me to do alot of extra work even on non working days. This isn't something easy for me as University work is also getting out of hand. Working here in the Business Hub was easy at the first few days where I was pratically trained by my supervisor and I get my work corrected everytime before being submitted. After a week of training It seems like things are getting pretty tough for me as I take so much responsibilities in many different sectors which deal with real life clients (my first time) . Basically, I am responsible for anything in that department and I would be questioned in anything and everything with regards to the department. Just recently, my supervisor called me up to meet a client with her in Leederville. As we were about to leave the office, she asked me If I had brought any hard copy materials and examples that explains what the Business Hub does. I was like stunned for a second before I could reply to her as I did not know that I should bring any materials. I was not been told for that and I have learnt that always to have materials in hand ready to meet clients at random situations. However meeting clients was a great experience for me, I could actually experience how my supervisor discussed and convince the client for our future agreement. I was then been told to be the spokesperson on behalf of Colosoul to follow up the client. (creating and editing business plans, help the client to get what he wants, manage other volunteers to get the job done for him) From there I actually get to experience discussion with clients via email and phone calls to record what client exactly wants and so I could keep track and explain to graphic designers and marketing volunteers what the clients want in specific.

Also I realize working in here keeps me in touch with many other volunteers, as with regards to any question of the business hub section work I will always be the first to be contacted. Therefore, I must check my emails regularly even during non working days and to keep track of almost everything at all times. By doing this along with my University work makes my work doubled. But still I am glad that I was given the opportunity to take responsibility of a department although it is under supervision. It made me felt like a leader of a team and the success of the operation depends on how hard I work. Also this week I will be creating a Facebook page for a not for profit organization for the very first time! However this time, I have a fellow colleague to work with me which lessens by burden! Working in Colosoul is very challenging for me and I have to be very proactive in everything that I do which includes many things that I was expected to do which were not even thought during training sessions. Thats it for now, I will share more of my experiences with all of you in future!

Thank you!!!

Tong Ong! that means different roles at your organization have opened your eyes to what you want to look for after your graduation. I think the most important lesson has been learnt how different the same role can be depending on the company for which you work. I wish wish Pr 393 is done immediately after learning the first and second module of Public relations for an eye opening. Am glad that you are able to tackle this on your own.

Hey Tony, i feel the exact same way. I never knew i can atually spent practically a whole day merely communicating through my mail and as a result, i've effectively developed this habit of checking my mail all the time now, good for us too, helps us keep track of events and prepare us to avoid embarrassment :D
