PR tool - Internet Activism

“Activism is an integral part of the process of democracy and consists of efforts to raise public awareness and to promote social change.” For PR person what they can do to contribute to Activism is increasing awareness through PR tools. Actually, they really reached this. Activism can be divided to several kinds.

In this Blog, I will talk about the Internet Activism which is the fast developing one. It is not a very fresh PR tool, but the effectiveness it works become more abvious now. It uses of electronic communication technologies such as social media, especially Twitter and Facebook, YouTube, e-mail, and podcasts for various forms of activism. Most of the public including you and me are involved in in our normal life and working areas.

Currently, most of the corporations started its e-campaign in YouTube with a video. Later public could participated in the e-campaign in Facebook, Twiiter or other communication platforms. Internet activism also known as digital activism, it has been the most useful and appropriate term for this new form of activism. I believe it can be the most useful activism because of its spreading speed. And in the New Economy, public get used to this lifestyle.

When I doing my Internship, every clients they prefer to promote online due to its audiences. When you anounce a PR campaign or PR event, Internet will help you get the widest and fastest range of feedback directly from publice. Speackperson of corporations respond to radio talk shows, cable television programs, and thousands of sites on the Internet, all of which afford organisations new ways of reaching the public. With each passing month, the advertisements in campaigns, the trade journal of consultants, are filled with new applications of this technology.

Direct broadcasting satellites, television, telephones, pagers, and the Internet all speed up news, to the point where news travels at what now seems to be a faster pace than ever. now boast of being able to write, produce, and distribute advertisements to air in a matter of hours, connect their campaign staffs with pollsters, writers, producers, and time buyers in ways never before possible.

As a PR professional, you must think about a better ways to reach your target audiences. At the same time, you also need to make your clients money value. All of your Clients want to know how their money spead in your PR plan, and what they can get after your work.
