First, the dinosaurs.

Well, everyone seems to have their own companies to talk about. Mine was a little more than different.

I did an event for the internship, approx 30 days. So, while everyone has 30000000000 days to talk about in their 10 blog posts. I shall spread my 30 days very thin and so excruciatingly detailed, these blog posts will feel almost alive.

This internship, was an event, set up by our classmate. Two other classmates and I participated in this event, and in the 30 days that followed, we were in it together. So in this first blog post I will start with how I came about doing this event and the first wave of events to hit us.

'The Powerful Self Workshop' a workshop the organizer had wanted to start up, and was a dream for her to be able to realize it, finally. So, a little introduction about this workshop, its a two day workshop that aimed at inspiring young teens to their mid 20s, for them to find direction and calling in life. I actually typed that in one breath without having to think. Wow.

When I first heard about this, I honestly was not a hundred percent bought over but I decided to go for it anyway and see how it'd turn out. That very day we had a meeting. Turns out the list of things undone was massive. There were PR related, non PR related that we were to complete. And we were one month away.

Okay so apart from this massive list, there were things that our organiser had done that I was pretty impressed. She had found $13,000 sponsorship. I mean like wow $13,000 that is a lot of money and she got it by herself that is impressive. This lady really can talk, and she sure has put it to good use. She also found a venue (for 200, at the cost of $10,000), 50 people to attend the event, and a handful of willing friends who were going to contribute their time to this workshop.

So we have, money, venue and nice friends, checked off our lists. Here's what was part of the massive list. The logo was not done, posters not done, the only social media site we were using was Facebook (what!!!!? its the freest most convenient form of media God has let man created and we only use Facebook). Collateral were not designed, designers not decided. Press releases, were also not drafted, not prepared to be sent, participants were not flowing in quite as she had planned.

In that one month alone, we were supposed to complete the gradual work of a much longer period of time. Its undeniable that the greatest challenge I was about to face would be the tight schedule I have to keep to. With this in mind, We were really wondering how she was going to cope by herself had she not acquired our help.

This was the first meeting. In the next post, you shall see how and where this progresses. This journey we were plummeting into hell, and took a sailboat back on the choppy lava of work undone.
