Insight view

Hi all
This is my first blog.
I am currently doing my PR internship at La Pirogue hotel. Since my degree is Public Relations, Event management and Tourism management, I thought this would be a good opportunity to gain an insight into all of the fields I am studying.

So far my internship is going well. Everyone has been very encouraging and super friendly and it is a great work environment.

I never realized how interactive each field of the hotel was. When I first came into the hotel and was asked to study the hotel map and learn the names of the managers at the hotel I was like hmmm. But now I understand. After one month of being there I have finally understood everything, but it took a long time. Clients wish to know all details about the hotel, from different restaurants and the managers that will be in charge of different aspects of what they are looking for.

I didn't understand before. But now I do. KNOW THE PLACE YOUR WORKING FOR!!!

Recently, I helped with a conference for Coca Cola. That was very interesting. It was fun to put in practice all the things we have been learning at school, and be able to give my insight into the conference.

Yes, they did ask my insights for the conference. Cool huh!

Also, I never realized how accounting could actually be helpful, but when being asked by clients why their billing was the way it was, thank god I did one unit of it.

Ok. So in summary. I have nothing to complain about my internship. Everyone is super nice and it has been very interesting to see all the different units I have studied at CTI come together and actually be helpful, even the units I hated and thought were useless.
Also, it has been interesting to see a conference done from top to bottom and everything in between. And my hands on experience has been very helpful and educating

Thanks for reading and commenting
Till next time

I really like when you say: "Know the place your are working for".

It soo true, when going to work in an organisation , i think the first thing to do is to know your company.
Having new blood in your organisation can be an advantage but also can reveal to be a thread.
Having in mind the vision and mission is a way to ensure that we are on the same wave as our employee.
