Public Relations and the Sports Industry

public relations is a slow growing but getting there occupation, it may face a few unfortunate discriminatory elements like ; it is viewed more like a feminine occupation rather than an all round occupation. Just like nursing, masseuse and even modeling  public relations is still looked down on as a masculine occupation. all the same this may be based on the self viewed aspect that, women tend to be better at it than men. noticed how all the in-between occupations always fall on the homosexuals? But thats another discussion all together.

the sports industry in Malaysia,  only got university recognition as a syllabus in 1995 (University of Malaya) even so it has grown as a curriculum and become a thriving academic pursuit in all around the world. I personally never was much of a fan of sports, i felt it was too tidious, messy and whenever i tried it i lost an item of clothing to the crazy. When i was allocated in the sports department, it was almost like a cruel joke but later on i came to discover, not ever one is equipped with the knowledge to make an organization seem better to the public.

the area in which the other interns and i were allocated, which is the gymnasium front desk, was crying to help in that the files were all over the place, and most were missing. there was no clear outline of all that was going on in the gym and they hadn't even prepared a proposal to ask the main office for equipment. after creating a few programs to attract more members and rearranging files, allocation of a proper roaster, and even coming together with a proposal to get new equipment, the gymnasium is at this very moment under renovation.

Even the sports industry has room for interns in public relations, i obviously didnt think so, but clearly...
