It’s Over, Yet Not The End

Time flies, two-month of my internship placement is finally over, however, it isn’t the end of the journey, I would consider this enrich experience as the beginning of my career, which enlighten and brighten my life, making me to stand firm and believe in the path that I have chose.

Last month (sorry for being extremely late to update about this), I attended Austin Heights annual dinner at Austin Heights Golf Resort, a gathering that organised to appreciate the efforts and services of all the staff from Austin Heights Sdn Bhd. Apart from staff, some of the relevant business partners were also invited to the annual dinner as a token of appreciation for their supports and assistances in Austin Heights’ projects and activities, they are bankers, suppliers, contractors, lawyers, architectures as well as designers.       

That was the first time that I attended a company annual dinner, it was a very pleasant night as we finally got a chance to relax and chill with each other after a month of fighting with the preparation of project launching.

Like other traditional dinner, the first agenda was the Chairman’s speech, our managing director Dato’ Ir Steve Chong first greet to all the guests and followed by his appreciation to those who had paid their effort in assisting Austin Heights’ projects, that allow the company to move forward very quickly and let the company become one of the excellent land developer in Johor. Apart from the speech, live band performance, lucky draw, mini games were also available in the annual dinner to liven up the occasion.

In my opinion, annual dinner is definitely a good PR event that allows the company to maintain a positive relationship with it stakeholders like employees, suppliers, customers and so on. As company shows their sincerity and acknowledge their efforts and contributions, it will let them feel that they are being taken seriously. In turn, it increases their loyalty to the company.     

Although it was very fun in the occasion, I personally felt sad too as that day was also the last day that I work in Austin Heights. Being in the company for two month, I felt lucky that I met a lot of people who are very helpful and willing to give me guidance to perform better.
