First Week

Hello all,

I am Mona Coretti Lee Johnny, student at Curtin University Sarawak and I am gladly to say that this is my final semester. I am currently doing my internship at RTM Sabah for 22 days. I've started my internship on the 15^th July 2013 and here is just a brief of my 5 days progress. My workplace is quite exciting because my PR department always collaborate with other units when there is an event held and other activities too.

For the first 3 days in RTM, I've actually attended a meeting together with the other colleagues and the topic that is discussed in the meeting is mostly about the event that will be held in the future (Event on July, August, September and October). All of the staffs are enthusiastic with the events and each of them always contributes their ideas in making this event successful. Since this is my first actual meeting in a workplace, I somehow feel overwhelmed because I am able to experience how an actual meeting in a corporate world feels like.

At the end of the meeting, we are told to gather for a group-photo. *It is quite obvious that I am the youngest among them* (me: Standing from left, the fourth one)

My first task was quite fun because the knowledge that I’ve learn in PR220 regarding running sheet and checklist are applied on my first week here. I was very excited when I was told to do a running sheet for “Majlis Penyampaian Sumbangan Kepada Anak-Anak Yatim As-Sakinah”. The feeling that I get when my supervisor compliment my work is such a wonderful feeling ever. Meanwhile, for the checklist, it was applied when I was told to co-operate with one of the staffs in checking for the preparation for the event, stuff that is ordered, food, goodies bag and other more. It was a tiring day indeed but at least I had fun and I met more professional people.

The running sheet is completed by me. A total of 40 copies are distributed towards those who came for the event.
