The last day at work is said to be a day of tears and joy. It’s sad to leave, once you just started to get used to life there. In a blink of an eye, twenty days have just gone by. It was a real life changing experience, one that I will never forget in my lifetime.
The day started off as usual, knowing that it’ll be my last. I started wrapping things up and completing the last few task that was given to me. I went through each file checking the consistency of each media coverage that I have done.
As it was near lunch time, it was common courtesy to be invited for to eat out with the rest of the company. We went to a nearby cafe a block from the office. There were exchanged laughter and chit chatted. I enjoyed my time that I had with them.
Later on, I had an exit interview with my supervisor. I told her about the experience that I had and how much I have learned during my time there. They have also given me their view towards the way that I do things. And, also some constructive criticism.
It is always hard to say goodbye. It’s even harder, when you’re there saying it. As the day comes to an end, it’s time to pack my things and leave. I cleared out the files in the computer that I was using and said my farewells to each of my coworkers.
I really appreciate to be given a chance to work for this company. They have known to be one of the best companies to work for in the city. I want to also thank my supervisors and coworkers for guiding me during my term there and for teaching me how to get things done.
I have learned that the media landscape is ever changing, always adopting new ways for us to communicate. Instead of fighting against the change, the public relations agencies should learn from it, and use it to the fullest to gain a wider audience for the campaign they are running.
The internship is a stepping stone towards a path to a real career later on in life. I never knew how much this internship would mean to me. I believe it has change me one way or another to be a more confident and creative person that I was before.
It was a real eye opening experience to be working in a public relations agency. I will always remember my internship as one of the best times of my life. There are its ups and downs. But, that's all part of life. Always remember to have an open heart, to learn as much as you can.
The last part of this post, I want to thank the university for giving us the opportunity to seek out for an internship. I was lucky enough to have a found a great company to start off. As I will be graduating soon, I have to say that I am proud to have studied here.
