Hey Guys!
I have been waiting for this day
impatiently and I finally got the opportunity to assist to an event. I was
given the opportunity to have a slight insight of how event creation and
monitoring look like. On the 26th of September I attended to the
Malaysian Week event. It was an amazing experience.
I however questioned myself about the risk
that the event did not actually receive to desired number of media coverage.
How do the host committee eventually react to scarce coverage? Luckily, the
event attract quite a lot of Journalists. The event was all about Malaysia
building stronger relationships with Mauritius.
A joyous atmosphere, typical malaysian
music, dancers wearing colorful clothes, traditional food, demonstrations of
Teh Tarik and pull-tea, a tea prepared by a Malaysian traditional art, all this
combined resulted into a successful event. Many media outlets like le Matinal
and le Mauricien, among others, actually covered this event.
I would end by saying that the Public
Relations domain is a challenging field and is constantly booming. PR
Practitioners need to constantly think out of the box so as to keep pace with
the media world. Hence the need to not only innovate but also get the desired
impact.
Hope you guys enjoyed your internship
as much as I did.

Hi there!
It was interesting that you pointed out that PR practitioners need to constantly think out of the box. I can't agree more on this matter, as I feel that this is one area many PR practitioners lack in. Even despite how creativity can add value to public relations. It's definitely something that PR practitioners should look more into :)
