No Two Days Are Alike!

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all having a nice placement experience. So, today I am going to talk about my first photo shoot experience I had during my internship at Fortis Clinique DarnĂ©. Well the photo shoot took place on my 10th day of placement and it was being made by the P & P Link Saatchi & Saatchi which is an advertising company located nearby the clinic itself. So P&P was creating a well-design poster that would show how Fortis Clinique DarnĂ© shares a close relationship with its patients. As a result, the picture had to portray the closeness between a doctor and its patient. I assisted the setting up till the end of the shooting. At first the models were getting ready and make up were being applied. Then the photographer started to take pictures and at the same time these pictures were being uploaded on a computer where someone was editing them. I must say that photo shooting is quite challenging since the picture needs to be ‘Perfect’ if not then the photographer will keep on clicking and clicking.

I must say that during my time spent at P&P I have learned how perfection is important when it comes to portray your organisation to the general public. I have also learned that sometime we have to learn through trial and error especially when photo shooting or editing are concern. I would have been happy to show you the poster but unfortunately I was not allowed to take any pictures during the photo shoot because the poster has not yet been published. However, I had a great experience in seeing how different teams from different organisations work in collaboration to achieve their respective objective.

As you may know public relations practitioners have to preform different type of tasks and as said previously by many of you people PR leads to multi-tasking and flexibility. Thus being a PR intern I have to work on different activities. Moreover, in these few past days I have learned that tasks keep on changing and that no two days are alike!

So now I am going to share the experiences I had while doing media clipping. Well at first when I was asked to do media clipping I was thinking that why do we need to do media clipping and that was exactly what I thought when I did it in the media relations unit. However, it is now that I have learned the real purpose of doing media clipping. I mean media clipping help in so many ways especially in identifying the industry as a whole and knowing what competitors are doing and since FCD is a private hospital I have learned so many things going on through the health industry. As such media clipping is a fundamental tool that public relations practitioners use to have a better view of their organisation as well as the industry.

Well for the time being I am enjoying my internship and I hope I will get the chance to share more and more interesting thing with you all in the coming days.

Thank you for reading!
