Greetings to all !
So my internship at Medine Limited is about to reach the minimum of days required. I felt very nostalgic in leaving this exciting placement and very hectic world that I decided to stay and make more days.
What I have learned so far has been helping me in understanding the world of PR in depth and apply everything that has been learnt since day one. Being a PR person is not only watching the news and make folders and folders of media clippings, but it is also about wearing different hats. Why am I saying this, is because one day you may be organising CSR events, on another occasion you are the biggest business woman out there trying to find a strategy on how to make one of your clusters flourish in the tourism arena....
So why does my title mention that all days roll into one in PR is because you never really stop thinking about what is to be done and mainly how it is to be done. I go back home after a long day of work, when I am supposed to just rest or relax, I always find myself researching on ideas or drafting out mind maps for future projects.
Now that my supervisor has seen my way of working for a little over a month now, he believes that I am up for serious work, like dead serious. He handed me the draft of a report that has to be done for a cluster that is to be launched soon. The organisation is still at the planning/researching stage. He approached me one day and said, "I want you to work on this with me". How excited I was, words cannot describe. So at this present day, we are working on the possible ways of communication that can be adopted for different targeted publics...So far my creativity did not betray me, pray that it remains so!!
I love my job, and I love the fact that everyday is never really the same although it feels like a week is one big, never ending day.
Best regards,
Roxanne
