Rhian Vlahos Bentley, Reflective Blog 1

This week we met with Anthea from Ramble to discuss Gina and my plans and how we wanted to approach doing PR for the event.

Social media being so powerful it is important that Perth Ramble social media is up to date. Updating their Facebook and Twitter and also introducing Instagram which is one of the most popular upcoming trends. We thought of ways we can help to increase awareness to the public and get the word out there about the ramble.

It was really good talking to Anthea about her thoughts and hearing what she thought about our ideas. The following day Anthea was having a meeting with the committee to discuss our ideas and once we get approval we are will ready to start our plans.

The following week...

Gina and I went about Curtin campus and spoke in tutorials and lectures about the Ramble and try and get some sign ups. After we went to tutorials and lectures we went around campus speaking to students one on one to try and get a more of a personal connection with them and try and get themselves or their friends to sign up. We found that some students were uncomfortable giving us their bank details which came along with the sign up forms, so they gave us their email addresses and we forward them the registration sheets so they would feel a bit more secure.
