I am doing my internship at AIESEC MAURITIUS. The first time I heard about AIESEC was almost one year ago. I feel that this internship is remarkable in three aspects; firstly the access that interns can gain to an impressive array of prominent individuals from the fields of politics, academia and the arts. AIESEC actively encourages and supports its interns to develop their own Human Rights initiatives, giving them access to its extensive range of contacts . This internship has is offering me the opportunity to explore a variety of roles, helping me to develop valuable skills that employers look for, such as research design and implementation, reporting and the confidence and interpersonal skills to deal with people.
I am grateful to AIESEC for giving me the opportunity to meet people from different cultures and countries. These people, my colleagues, became my friends. Sharing experiences, going out together and just working together was very pleasant for me. It is not a common thing when you can work within such atmosphere, with all those talented and smart individuals who share a lot in common even having completely different backgrounds. The good thing is that I have overcome my shyness towards some professional and life situations. Working here has helped to increase my confidence and made me realized what I want to do next in life.
