Busy as bees.

The last two weeks have been very busy for the Sunset team. With a changing dynamic in the team along with an upcoming Groovin the Moo festival, it has been all hands on deck from the beginning through to the end of the day. As we are coming to the end of festival season, we are looking to revamp our social media pages and website to keep our followers interested. My tasks for the past weeks have been market research of different events pages nationally and internationally to see what we can do different that works for other companies. Research is a huge part of any successful change so that we know what to expect and how to transition in the right way.

I have also been on festival info duty where I have had to create more info point folders and create budgets for accommodations as GTM is an away festival. This really exposed me to how expensive an event can be amongst other costs that are involved. Not all of my work has been quite as fun however because with events, there is also a lot of tedious and repetitive jobs! Being the office intern, i was also responsible for running errands to pick up required material for the upcoming event as well as to be at everyones disposal when they needed things laminated, put in to folders or hole punched. As little as these small tasks are, it can be very time consuming when you have large amounts to do.

A change within the teams structure has also required given me a taste of what corporate life entails however I have felt very much like a valued member of the team here throughout this process as the change in team members have required my suggestions and opinions as well as my effort in finding suitable candidates for this place. The changing environment gave me a taste of PR in the sense that I had to be diligent with internal communications and learn to handle any workplace changes professionally.

Next week is my last week as an intern at Sunset Events and I am looking forward to telling you all about my entire experience at this place!
