#CatsFurLife talk is HERE !

28th March 2015, Saturday is here !

My project, the #CatsFurLife talk was a success ! Thank you to my supervisor, Ms Sofina for the help and the team !

Weeks before the event, I designed the notice and media release. Again, thank you Ms. Sofina for your feedback's especially on the notice.

Media release for the event (English and Malay language)

Final notice after 3 times of editing it.
My supervisor help to post it in social media - Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Official Facebook Page.

A day before (27th March 2015), NAJA Enterprise (one of the supporters) set up the balloon towers and a cat cut-out.
NAJA Enterprise prepared the balloon tower and a cat cut-out for the CatsFurLife talk.

Print out the notice and paste it at the notice board (near to the main entrance of Pustaka Negeri Sarawak).

For pre-event, I did post a 'teaser' of the event to my personal Facebook, to Miri Cats Community Official Facebook group and also , in my personal Instagram account. Why the pre-event teaser ? Because we all should know now that social media is a powerful and useful tools. Hence, I am fully-utilizing this opportunity to spread the news about the talk. I would want to do a big kind of pre-event teaser but I can't do a big guerrilla activities as this event is a small scale event. So, a simple yet impactable kind of teaser should do it !

Few hours before the event starts, my team and I, we get together to prepare the room for the talk, such as getting ready with the laptop, LCD projector, lights, air condition, sound system, turn on the microphones, pointers for the talk.

At 1pm, Miri Cats Community (MCC) came and support the event by setting up a photo booth with the theme of cats (obviously). Refer here to know more on what organization that supported the event !

Photo booth props.

And slowly participants start to come in and we are ready for the registration of participants, with door gifts from Pustaka Negeri Sarawak.

Meanwhile, in the room (AV Room), I was having a little discussion with the speakers before we begin the event.
Me giving a small brief with the speakers from Live Animals Medical Centre.
And 2:15pm, the show begin. The talk had to start a little late (supposed to start at 2:00pm) but the speakers are giving some time for more audience to come in for the talk. Which for me, I truly understand because it would be so awkward to start a talk when you are expecting the crowd to be 40 people but only 20 people came. Also, it would make the speakers feel uncomfortable to start the talk but the audience kept going in the room while he is giving the talk. Hence, we agree to give a little time to the audience to be present. And the wait was worth it ! Participants that came for the talk was 52 people; from Government sectors and public too.

The talk was divided into two session; first session from Dr. Ling Tung King focus on vaccination and spay / neutering of cats and second session by Ms. Chin, a pet groomer talks about how to groom a cat.

Audience that present.

After both talk session, we had the Question & Answer (Q&A) session with the audience. It went quite fast as Q&A session is supposed to be at 330PM but it was earlier that that ! I was so panicked at that time as the refreshments for the audience are not ready but we are about to end the talk ! Apparently, the food (from Sri Saribas) is already on its way, walking to the staircase going to AV room to place the refreshments. Ahh, finally ! Refreshments (from KFCK) for the speakers are ready too so, now, everything is back again, on track.

For the final session, I've invited the Regional Manager, Ms. Salina Hj Zawawi to present the token of appreciation for both of the speakers.

Thats a wrap ! Thank you to the speakers, supporters, audience, my team (Pustaka's staff) that worked hard for this talk and my personal team (photographers and food coordinators), those who are directly or indirectly related to the events, thank you so much ! Praise to God !

Thats all for now. Finally, the talk is here and went smoothly and done !
