As the semester draws to a close I think its time to look
nack at my time with the YB team.
I’m very fortunate to be completely thrown in the deep end.
My time at Yellowbanana begun with meeting the creator and CEO for a job
interview, and it was just as scary as if I was going for a full time position.
Thankfully Jess is such a kind person and mentor.
I admit that I felt a huge pressure on me when Jess informed
me of her very personal reasoning for creating the site and that I had to do
well for her. But Jess was all encouragement and approval. Then I got to meet
the rest of the team.
Monday morning at 9 am in a little café in the city. I
decided to turn up on my own a few minutes early so I could be ready for anything.
Turns out that the person I sat next to was in fact the marketing director of
the company. I was completely through in the deep end with t whole team
together but I felt welcome to the team with smiles and happy faces.
I feel that because it’s a start-up company there is even
more pressure to do well. Because if I under performed the whole company would be
affected. Realising this I didn’t think I have worked harder for someone else
in my life and have been rewarded for my efforts. I feel like I am now a part
of something great, a new company which I believe will be successful.
Through the last five months we have had our ups and down
from no one turning up to our focus group to creating a full PR plan and running
in the Run for a Reason the website is up and running. We can’t slow down now, its
go time if anyone of the team let’s slip we could go backwards.
I have gained so much from working at Yellowbanana.com and
looking forward to seeing where it will take me. with such an amazing team for support and encouragement I am excited to continue working for.
Before I go I'm going to have one more shameless promo. PLEASE LIKE OUR FACEBOOK AND TWITTER or even better sign up to yellowbanana.com.au, It's Free and exciting.

It sounds like you have had a great time at your internship Hannah. I felt the same way when i was starting my internship, working for a small business means that all of your inputs and work are noticed and you have to make sure that everything is triple checked and perfect otherwise it can affect the other team members.
Working on Run For A Reason must have been so exciting! it is sad that the internship has come to an end but sounds like you have had so many great experiences to look back on. Its great feeling to be part of a team and gain relationships in the PR industry.
Good luck for your report and for your future career endeavours.
