I have recently started another internship with a company franchising a brand that I absolutely love. Operating under the company Denim HQ, I was employed by internationally renowned fashion brand, G-Star Raw to help better market the brand to Perth.
G-Star's approach in providing local markets with premium quality clothing at affordable prices, together with its believes and conduct in: corporate social responsibility, sustainable production and community involvement, positions it as a pioneer and inspiration for other businesses in the industry.
G-Star collaborates with many other inspirational brands and people, proving that the world of denim is more than just work wear, but transcends fashion and can be incorporated in to every aspect of life. It is a brand that brings much excitement and passion, it is a brand worth believing in....and it is what makes it so marketable.
One of the main and current collaborations is something so fascinating and such a break through, not only in the world of fashion but in general day-to-day life. Together with musician and Creative Director of Bionic Yarn, Pharrell Williams, G-Star has brought to the world a clothing line made out of recycled ocean plastic! Known as Raw for the Oceans, the collaboration was introduced during New York Fashion Week 2014 and since then has received copious amounts of support around the world.
Therefore I am eager and excited to see where this internship takes me, and to help communicated this amazing brand to the locals of Perth. It is more than just clothes, it is a lifestyle!

Hi Kim,
I was definitely not surprised to see you were interning for G-Star Raw! You've been passionate about the brand for ages.
It must be really interesting working for a company who embraces CSR so much. I had no idea about G-Star Raw's CSR work. As a clothing brand there aren't any reasons to naturally associate them with being environmentally responsible. The recycled ocean plastic clothing is insanely innovative!
Coming from the non-profit side myself, there's a constant focus on the socially responsible side of the work everyone does. I wish I had a chance to explore the CSR side of things from a for-profit business like you did.
I hope you enjoyed your internship and good luck for your future :-)
