My first thought when I began my internship journey with Magnetize was WOW! I couldn’t believe that such a small agency could manage such a large client base with the professionalism and timeliness in which they did. To begin, it is important to understand who Magnetize are and what they do, Magnetize are an independent boutique consultancy based in Subiaco, who hold an expertise in event management, media, online marketing and social media. However that’s not all they do, Magnetize presents its clients with a plethora of services because they understand that there is no one size fits all to fulfilling a client's objectives. With this notion in mind, Magnetize focuses to create tailored and innovative solutions through the use of strategic marketing, events, social media, PR & media, Investor relations, business development, brand development and online marketing. Jumping into an internship position with Magnetize was an exciting opportunity to gain experience, not only in Public Relations but also in a multitude of fields.
Being a boutique consultancy, the clients that Magnetize works with are incredible; the diverseness of the clients was surprising, ranging from the beauty industry to the automobile industry and grasping an understanding of these different industries was my first task. Switching my mind set from industry to industry when going about my daily tasks was at first, one of the things I found most difficult, because for every one of these clients a different tone of writing was required, even for social media.
The first week of my internship has opened my eyes to a whole new world of the industry and what I can expect when I take the big step into the PR workforce. The opportunity to get a taste of such a wide range of industries has definitely excited me into seeing what the future holds; I thoroughly look forward to the rest of my time at Magnetize and the opportunities it will bring.
Till next time,
Esther.

Hi Esther,
Your internship at Magnetize sounds fantastic. I am quite jealous that you get to work with many different clients and as you said get a taste of everything!
I am currently interning at on organisation in their in-house PR department. I definitely would like to get some experience in a consultancy and gain a better understanding of PR from a consultancy perspective.
It seems like a fantastic learning opportunity. Best of luck!
