Here I am again for my third blog post about my internship. I am much excited to be amongst the big family at DHL Global Forwarding. The team I work with is a much dedicated and flexible one. I have come across a lot of information regarding the communications of the organisation.
The main tools that is used at DHL to promote and create awareness about its panoplies of services are sponsorship and advertising campaigns. DHL is the main sponsor of Manchester United which allows worldwide recognition in this sense.
In line with being the main sponsor of Manchester United, DHL has created an advertising campaign which has been showcasted worldwide and on its YouTube channel as well.
My internship has almost come to an end but this was really an enriching experience as I learned a lot about communications withing and outside an organisation. At DHL, communications within the different departments as well as on a global perspective is of foremost importance. Given that there are a number of DHL outlets and agents worldwide, it is important to have a good communication channel so as to have flow of information. I have been asked to communicate messages in different departments and deal with customer issues as well as tackle the issues the company has been facing along with the communications executive.
It is important to create a good customer experience so as to induce continuous sales. The company has a number of major loyal customers which shall choose it although the major competitors which are present. I had been assigned to come up with solutions and ideas on how to tackle issues customers face. Also, the social media platform DHL is mainly engaged in is managed by an expert department in South Africa. This particular communications department is involved in promoting the services tailored as per the country requirements.

Your internship seems really interesting and fun. It is great being exposed to such worldwide events and campaigns, you are very lucky not everyone get such chance, make the best out of it as tomorrow it will just be one part of your adventures.
